Lionsgate has released the second movie trailer for Patriots Day (2016). This trailer goes far more in-depth into the plot of the film than the first trailer did. In addition, more characters are brought front and center besides Mark Wahlberg. Kevin Bacon plays a major role in the film, which is quit evident from this trailer as are the numerous injuries that occurred because of the bombing. The film apparently will not be watering any of that down. They shouldn’t. The effects of terrorism should be seen in its raw form so people realize what America and other nations are fighting on a daily basis.

The interrogation scene with Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) was interesting. Did she have no rights because: a.) she was a suspected terrorist collaborator, b.) the Patriot Act, or c.) the Boston Police just said to hell with her rights? Give us the information that we require?

Patriots Day‘s plot synopsis: “An account of the Boston Marathon bombing, PATRIOTS DAY is the powerful story of a community’s courage in the face of terror. In the aftermath of an unspeakable attack, Police Sergeant Tommy Saunders (Mark Wahlberg) joins courageous survivors, first responders and investigators in a race against the clock to hunt down the bombers before they strike again. Weaving together the stories of Special Agent Richard DesLauriers (Kevin Bacon), Police Commissioner Ed Davis (John Goodman), Sergeant Jeffrey Pugliese (J.K. Simmons) and nurse Carol Saunders (Michelle Monaghan) this visceral and unflinching chronicle captures the suspense of one of the most sophisticated manhunts in law enforcement history and celebrates the strength of the people of Boston.”

Peter Berg‘s Patriots Day‘s also stars Lana Condor, Jake Picking, Khandi Alexander, James DuMont, Dean Neistat, Michelle Monaghan, J.K. Simmons, John Goodman, Michael Beach, Rachel Brosnahan, Alex Wolff, and Vincent Curatola.
