2016 Start Dates: BLADE RUNNER 2, GHOST IN THE SHELL, AVATAR 2, & More

2016 Production Start Dates for Blade Runner 2, Ghost in the Shell, Avatar 2, and other films. In the next few months, production will begin on some major motion pictures. Many are sequels but there is a highly-anticipated original film amongst them, namely Ghost in the Shell.

Ghost in the Shell will begin production this month and will be shot on location in New Zealand, Hong Kong, Macau, and Shanghai, China. The film is scheduled for release on March 31, 2017.

Of all the sequels, Blade Runner 2 and Avatar 2 have many people wondering what they see and if they can top the original.

Blade Runner 2 is scheduled to begin principal photography starting in July 2016. The film is scheduled for release on March 31, 2017.

Avatar 2 will start shooting in April 2016 in New Zealand but is not a mere sequel. It is the opening chapter of three sequels that will be released for the original film. Avatar 2 currently has no release date.

Alien: Covenant will begin shooting in April 2016 in Syndey, Australia. The film is scheduled for release on October 6, 2017.

Wolverine 3 is scheduled to start production on April 25, 2016 in New Mexico and New Orleans. The film is scheduled for release on March 3, 2017.

Transformer 5 will begin production in May of 2016. The film is scheduled has no release date yet.
