Luke Scott‘s 2048: Nowhere To Run (2017) short film stars Dave Bautista. 2048: Nowhere To Run‘s plot synopsis: A man named Sapper tries to live a peaceful life until those he cares about become endangered and his secret is revealed. The first Blade Runner 2049 short film was cerebral. 2048: Nowhere To Run is heart and visceral action.

Dave Bautista has come a long way as an actor. His acting at the beginning of this short film proves that fact. The viewer doesn’t know what is upsetting him so until the mid-way point do the end. Then it is clear.

I loved the action in this short film. Sapper (Dave Bautista) goes on combat auto-pilot when he is “activated” through physical and emotional trauma. Fighting your programming must have been difficult but Sapper had managed for what may have been a long time, hence his emotion at the beginning of this short.

2048: Nowhere To Run is the second of three short films that will be released for Blade Runner 2049.
