The 2017 upfronts are currently underway for all of the major television networks in the United States. Three of the those upfronts have already occurred  – ABC, NBC, and Fox. Following those upfronts at Lincoln Center’s David Geffen Hall in New York City, each TV network has released their Fall 2017 primetime, 2018 mid-season, and premiere TV Show schedule. We have ABC, NBC, and Fox 2017-2018 schedules and lineups for you in this article.

ABC is making an audacious move with one of its most anticipated comic book TV shows. Inhumans will premiere on Friday in ABC’s 2017-2018 primetime schedule, in what is notoriously known as The Death Slot. The purpose of this placement was obvious: ABC is trying to build up its Friday night schedule. Placing a high-end comic book adaptation in that slot may be the ingredient that does that for ABC.

Regarding NBC, I was surprised that they moved Blindspot and Taken into the Friday Night Death Slot. The former premiered very strongly on NBC and has since cultivated a returning viewership. This move by NBC is curious. Unlike Inhumans, I don’t believe the union of these two action shows will be strong enough to cultivate the hard soil of Friday nights on this broadcast cable station.

Fox is doing something very surprising with their 2017-2018 primetime and premiere schedule. They are moving Gotham out of the time slot that it has enjoyed for years, Monday night, and are moving it to Thursday night. The new Marvel TV show The Gifted will be taking Gotham‘s Monday slot. Fox is spreading out its tent-pole television properties across its entire week. That is a smart move, especially since Gotham has been performing so well.
