Agent Carter is based off of the One-Shot Marvel short film of the same name featuring Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), a character from Captain America: The First Avenger. The show will have Peggy Carter at work during a time where women aren’t considered as equally superior to men.

The show takes place in 1946 where Peggy works in administration with the SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve). Peggy tries to navigate life as a single woman after losing the man of her life, Steve Rogers AKA Captain America. Wishing to work out in the field catching criminals, Peggy catches a break after Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper) assigns her a case to clear his name after being framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons in the market. Peggy tries to work the case without getting caught as a traitor. With the help from Stark’s butler Edwin Jarvis (James D’Arcy) and her team, Peggy investigates the case but as she delves deeper, she realizes that those she works for may not be so trustworthy. She also questions Stark’s innocence as well.

Marvel’s Agent Carter also stars Chad Michael Murray, Enver Gjokaj, and Shea Whigham. The show will release once Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. goes on mid-season break during January.
