TV show trailer, clip & poster for ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. 2.18, The Frenemy of my Enemy. Nothing says final stretch, to a season of Agents, like another MCU tie-in event; and season 2 gets hitched to about as familiar a property as it gets, for the series.
The latest trailer is as much a promo for Avengers: Age of Ultron, as it is for AoS; but it’s going to be that kind of Box Office season. The episode 18 clip, however, does give some idea of what viewers are in for, as Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), having reaffirmed some field chops, reconnects with some familiar faces – only to be handed something of a confidence shaker to his outlook on their prospects. Reunions really do belong in the ‘careful what you wish for’ category, after all.
Highlighting the mixed bag, that Fitz may have to find his way out of, is Nathan Fox’s contribution to the Art of S.H.I.E.L.D. series. I would describe it as more kinetic, than detailed; but if the color coding doesn’t clear things up enough, I make out a quasi-Mexican standoff, involving Coulson (Clark Gregg), Hunter (Nick Blood), and (surprise!) Ward (Brett Dalton), Fitz getting a close shave from Kara/ Agent 33 (Maya Stojan), and a zoned out Bakshi (Simon Kassianides) playing wildcard, along with an outsider colored Deathlok (J. August Richards).
The clip also makes mention of some guy named Strucker, and (closer to home) Coulson’s plans for Ward involving securing Skye (Chloe Bennet)… so there may be more awkwardness than just the Fitz-Ward catching up session.
‘The Frenemy of my Enemy’ also features Ming-Na Wen, Elizabeth Henstridge, Adrianne Palicki, Henry Simmons, Dichen Lachman, Luke Mitchell, Kyle MacLachlan, Jamie Harris, Henry Goodman, and Edward James Olmos. It airs Tuesday, April 21, at 9:00p.m. EST, on ABC.
