AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.: Episode 3.11: Bouncing Back: Casting & Trailer [ABC]

Brett Dalton Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Bouncing Back

TV show trailer & casting for ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Bouncing Back. A call for all Agents on deck will come with a need for a larger deck (although, having a larger ‘bus’ likely helps), when Agents returns for its season 3 back end. A new trailer for the mid-season premiere episode, ‘Bouncing Back,’ gives some idea of where the post Maveth direction of the team will be taking us. To put it simply: Secret Warriors are go (but there will still be a lot of old skool butt-whup).

With President Ellis (William Sadler) making a formal appearance, the Inhuman ‘problem’ will be getting full priority treatment; and since the best way to catch a Tiger is with a Tiger, Coulson (Clark Gregg) & Team Daisy (Chloe Bennet) seem headed for something of a super powered throwdown. Among the character flashbacks seemed to be fresh footage of Carl Creel (Brian Patrick Wade) – back in fighting form, and promising to give Daisy’s Caterpillars something to chew on, since giving HYDRA its last beat down.

Not that the HYDRA element has been trashed altogether, however. Besides Malick (Powers Boothe) still being unaccounted for, there will also be the matter of a re-animated Ward (Brett Dalton) to deal with – Ward not looking nearly as smarmily charming as pre-mortem; but let’s see what comes of his bouncing back.

The title ‘Bouncing Back’ may also be a reference to the character of Elena Rodriguez (Natalia Cordova-Buckley) being added to the Secret Warriors roster.

Natalia Cordova-Buckley & Slingshot

“Street-wise Colombian” Elena was based on a character codenamed Slingshot, with a power summed up as super speed, at simplest; but it is more akin to a point-to-point transference, with an automatic reset to her starting position. Hence, her source nick-name of ‘Yo-Yo’ Rodriguez – and, I’m guessing, the ‘Bouncing Back’ title. Add that the source character has something in common with Daisy – namely a supervillain patriarch – and there may be something of a spotlight for her character, either this ep, or somewhere down the road.

‘Bouncing Back’ features  Ming-Na Wen, Iain De CaesteckerElizabeth Henstridge, Adrianne Palicki, Nick Blood, Henry Simmons, Luke Mitchell, and Juan Pablo Raba. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns Tuesday, Mar. 8, at 9:00pm EST, on ABC.
