ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. May Start Plotline Leading to Civil War. It looks like the adaptation of Civil War may happen sooner for anticipated fans. A rumor has been speculating that Marvel may have Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. be the starting point on their journey to Captain America: Civil War.
MoviePilot reported that Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. may take the first steps in what will culminate in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron. The new Avengers film as also rumored to start the split in the superhero community in Captain America: Winter Soldier.
The outlet first got word of this when actor Fran Kranz, who worked with Joss Whedon in the past, tweeted back in September about him working on the show as a possible key character. Here’s what he wrote: Mockingbird. Robbie Baldwin. Shield. Soon.”
We already know of Mockingbird’s appearance on the show, who is played by Adrienne Palicki. The main clue is Robbie Baldwin, a teenage superhero from the comics who becomes Speedball, who can project force fields through kinetic energy. Speedball in Marvel Comics is the launch pad for the government fighting against unregulated superhuman activity. Because of this, the government issues the Superhuman Registration Act, which starts the Civil War storyline.
We can count on Fran being on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in a future episode playing Speedball. Once that happens, it will be a matter of time until the character will embrace his fate as the Civil War instigator. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. can also bring in a few other superheroes into the fold in the storyline without giving too much info on Captain America: Civil War, which releases on May 3rd, 2016.
Do you guys think this storyline will take affect in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.?
