TV show trailer & clip for ABC‘s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Season 2, Episode 3. ‘Making Friends & Influencing People’ has always had a sinister connotation to it (even in the most innocent sense, its still about getting ahead, or bringing people around your way), and the next episode of Agents seems primed to exploit the oft-used euphemism for exploitation.
HYDRA takes a step further, out of the shadows, for its much more prominent season two stint, as the bane of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s existence. Among its priorities: locating, recruiting, or eliminating “gifted” individuals. Gifted may refer to any number of qualities; but in addition to persons with superhuman abilities – such as Donnie Gill (Dylan Minnette), making an appearance, this episode – it may also refer to the technically adept. As technically adept as, say, Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge).
Plot synopsis for ‘Making friends & Influencing People:’
Coulson and his team race against HYDRA to get to Donnie Gill–a dangerous gifted with the ability to freeze objects–while Simmons is caught in the crossfire.
While Simmons contends with the occupational hazards of her new position – including a run-in with Director Coulson (Clark Gregg), former agent (and current prisoner) of S.H.I.E.L.D., Grant Ward (Brett Dalton) provides some insight on the HYDRA recruitment process. For assigned interrogator Skye (Chloe Bennet), however, the unpleasant business comes with an initial personal exchange.
‘Making Friends & Influencing People’ also features Ming-Na Wen, Iain De Caestecker, Nick Blood, Henry Simmons, Reed Diamond, and Simon Kassiandes, and airs Tuesday, Oct 7, at 9:00 p.m. EST, on ABC.
