Jason O'Mara

Jason O’Mara Cast as New SHIELD Director in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S.H.I.E.L.D. is about to meet it’s new director as Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has cast Jason O’Mara to play the new leader of the fictional spy organization when the series’ fourth season airs this fall.

Deadline revealed that the TV actor Jason O’Mara will be playing the Director of SHIELD, but no name has been given on what character he will be playing. The only detail we have is that his character has roots that date back to the 1940s. Perhaps he’s related to someone we know back in Captain America’s World War II days? It’s anyone’s guess at this point, but here’s what Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb had to say about the new director:

Bringing Jason into the mix as the New Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. forces everyone, particularly Coulson, to reevaluate their role in the Agency. Jason has both the physical presence and acting dynamics that will connect with and challenge even the most loyal agent.

Jason O’Mara is no stranger when it comes to portraying characters based on a comic book as he had a chance to voice Batman in a few animated films. What do you guys think of the new director coming to SHIELD? Do you approve?
