Sean EllisAnthropoid (2016) movie trailer stars Cillian Murphy, Jamie Dornan, Harry Lloyd, Charlotte Le Bon, and Toby Jones. Anthropoid‘s plot synopsis: “ANTHROPOID is based on the extraordinary true story of Operation Anthropoid, the World War II mission to assassinate SS General Reinhard Heydrich. The Reich’s third in command after Hitler and Himmler, Heydrich was the main architect behind the Final Solution and the leader of occupying Nazi forces in Czechoslovakia whose reign of terror prompted Allied soldiers (Cillian Murphy and Jamie Dornan) to hatch a top-secret mission that would change the face of Europe forever.”

This looks like a great war film. The events in the trailer seem to be presented out of sequence so not much is given away when it comes to the overall narrative.

History channel, fond of World War I and World War II TV programs and retrospectives, ran an entire segment on the World War II operation that was code-named Anthropoid.

I am glad to see that a more international cast was affixed to lead roles in this film and not just the normal Hollywood fodder.

Anthropoid also stars Bill Milner, Sam Keeley, Mish Boyko, Brian Caspe, Sean Mahon, Marcin Dorocinski, Detlef Bothe, and Alena Mihulová.
