Arrow Has Katie Cassidy as Series Regular for Season Six

Arrow is eyeing a possible return for actress Katie Cassidy as the actress is set to return as Black Siren for the last two episodes of the new season. Not only that, but The CW has also revealed that her character will become a series regular for the upcoming sixth season.

It was bound to happen sooner or later, and now it’s official that Katie Cassidy will return in the final two episodes of Arrow’s fifth season. Right after that, expect to see her regularly as she reprises her doppelganger role in season six as a series regular. Even though her Earth-One counterpart isn’t coming back from the dead, at least we’ll be seeing Cassidy in a whole new light as she plays the villainous Black Siren. She made her debut as the character this season on The Flash.

Speaking about Katie’s return on Arrow, EP Marc Guggenheim told Variety:

One of the things that most excites us about Arrow is that we go where the story takes us. Last year, the story took us to the tragic death of Laurel Lance. This year, our midseason finale reintroduced us to Laurel’s doppelganger, Black Siren. We were so taken by Katie’s fearless interpretation of this character that we knew her story was not yet finished. We couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome Katie back to Arrow as Black Siren, though as her appearances on Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow this season show, she never really left the family.

So what does that mean for Black Siren? Will she have a change of heart and join Team Arrow or will she be sticking to playing a villain? Don’t forget that we already got another Black Canary, so if Black Siren does indeed become a member of the team; we can imagine it won’t sit well with Dinah Drake. Are you excited for Katie Cassidy to return to Arrow as a regular cast member again?
