ARROW: Season Four to Explore Magic and Mysticism [The CW]

Stephen Amell Arrow Banner

Arrow’s Fourth Season to Focus on Magic and the Supernatural. When Arrow returns to The CW this fall, it’s going to be heading into some new territory. Main lead Stephen Amell revealed that the fourth season of Arrow would delve deep into the world of magic and mysticism.

At San Diego Comic Con, Stephen Amell spoke with the media (via ComicBook.com) regarding the direction that Arrow is heading towards when we head into season four, saying that magic and mysticism will play a big role. The actor said, “Oliver alludes very early on in the season that [magic] is something that he’s seen before, so clearly that will play into this year’s flashbacks for him.” After introducing the concept of metahumans and bringing in The Flash, Arrow seems to be expanding the TV world’s view of what’s out there, whether it’s either natural or unnatural.

Amell also adds that “Oliver has learned a bunch of new skills” during the five months before the start of the fourth season. But, with all his time traveling with Felciity, this time around, almost all of the skills pertain to domestic life.” Those aren’t excited to see how Oliver is leading a normal life with Felicity shouldn’t worry as a new evil will bring our hero back to his city pretty early. “I’m not going to spend five episodes in domestic bliss in nowheretown,” Amell explained, “The show is the show. We come back, five months have happened, and conveniently right when we pick back up again, I get activated, so to speak.”

We may also see Oliver going under a different name when he goes back into crime fighting. “The Arrow is not an inspiration…but The Arrow is dead,” Amell declared, “So if there is a new version of that hero, hopefully one of the things that he strives to do is inspire people. That is the basic tenet of a superhero — that they have to make people believe in something bigger than themselves.” So is it possible Oliver will take up the name Green Arrow? We shall see when the new season begins. So what do you guys think?
