THE ART OF MORE: Crackle Joins the Original Drama Fray

Dennis Quaid

Crackle To Debut Original Series. Crackle has thrown its hat into the original drama ring with their upcoming series, The Art of More. The show will star Dennis Quaid (Vegas) with Christian Cooke (Witches of East End) as the co-lead. The project, headed by Quaid, received a 10-episode straight to series order from Crackle.

Quaid will executive produce the series along with Gary Fleder, Chuck Rose (also series creator) and Gardner Stern (series showrunner).

Here is a breakdown of the The Art of More:

Written by Stern and Rose, the drama explores the underbelly–and surprisingly cutthroat world–of premium auction houses, filled with hustlers, smugglers, power mongers and collectors of the beautiful and the bizarre. It follows a blue collar young man, Graham Connor (Cooke), who leverages his way in to this exclusive existence by exploiting his connections to antiquities smuggling rings he was exposed to as a soldier in Iraq.

Quaid plays Samuel Brukner, a charismatic real estate shark–a Machiavellian master of money and power… One part charm and one part intimidation. Brukner is the life of the party, but when it comes to his money, he can be ruthless, shrewd and corrupt.

At this point, the death of the cable subscription service model is inevitable. Every day we are being inundated with a wider variety entertainment distribution options. Right now, the tech-savy have no problem cutting the cord and getting their entertainment fix with Netflix, Hulu and a steady diet of streaming service supplements. However, the sheer volume of choices is enough to leave the “less than tech-savy” immobilized on the internet highway like a deer in the headlights.

Before the masses come aboard, Netflix, Apple TV, Crunchy Roll, Hulu and HBO GO will have to wage a Game of Thrones style battle for supremacy in order to decide which services will be the entertainment streaming industry’s Facebook while everyone else figures out ways not to be Myspace. My bet is that Crackle will be the first to get “Red Weddinged”.
