ATROZ (2015) Movie Trailer & Poster: Ruggero Deodato Presents Mexican Horror

Atroz Movie Trailer and Poster

Atroz Movie Trailer and Movie Poster Released. Lex Ortega‘s Atroz (2015) movie trailer stars Carlos PadillaPatricia Leih and Lex Ortega. Atroz‘s plot synopsis: “Atroz/Atrocious is a film that portrays the story of two serial killers.  After the pair are arrested for causing a traffic accident, the police confiscate some videotapes. These tapes contain brutal murders and tortures that show human wickedness, their background, paraphilia, and the psyche of these murderers.”

The above synopsis comes courtesy of DreadCentral, as there is no official one posted on the film’s IMDb page yet. It’s early days for this film, which is about to premier at the Puerto Rico Horror Film Festival, but what we’ve gotten so far is promising.

Presented by horror legend Ruggero Deodato, the man put on trial for murder and negligence in Italy due to the highly believable nature of his 1980 film Cannibal Holocaust, the man has given us an iconic piece of horror film history, replete with one of the most beautiful soundtracks known to man (thank you, Riz Ortolani). Since then, he’s made a cameo in Eli Roth‘s Hostel Pt. II (2007) and directed a few tv movies and episodes for television. Now, it seems, he has produced this new Mexican horror film, Atroz, for which we have both trailer and poster to present to you. Little is known about the director, Ortega, but his credits reveal an extensive history of sound design and creating short films.

According to Twitch, “Atroz is going to polarize the audience in Puebla, that is for certain. Ortega’s depiction of brutal violence is not going to be for everyone. I do not know if I am even ready for it and I kind of know what to expect based on Ortega’s short films including the 2012 short film version of this story that got it all started. Another sure thing is that Atroz is going to sound bloody awesome because of Ortega’s extensive work in sound design (Late Phases, Here Comes the Devil, El Gigante). If his work as a front man for a Mexican metal band does not result in at least one teeth grinding song in the mix I could be disappointed with that as well. “

I grew up in Hamburg to a German father and Ecuadorian mother. Obsessive student of film, Hip-Hop, and stand-up comedy. I love the dark dreambox that is the cinema auditorium. I love mountains and the ocean, but am equally exhilarated by the jungle of the city. I hope to one day create something that hits someone in the brain with thunderous effect.
