Zoe Saldana Says That Gamora Will Appear In Avengers: Infinity War

Guardians of the Galaxy star Zoe Saldana reveals that she will reprise her role as Gamora in Marvel‘s Avengers: Infinity War.

The actress, who is already slated to reappear as the character in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, made the announcement to a reporter while on the red carpet for yesterday’s Golden Globes. When he asked her if she would indeed play a role in the next Avengers installment, Saldana simply nodded her head in response. She noted, however, that she has yet to see the script for the film and is not anticipating the “five hours of green make-up” that she will have to endure every day she shoots for the project.

Gamora’s involvement in the film was previously suggested by a casting call made in December that seemed to indicate her and her fellow Guardians would all feature in the planned crossover. That being said, casting calls are not necessarily proof that a given character is going to appear in a production, making Saldana’s remarks today all the more newsworthy. Whether this means Gamora and her allies will play a significant role in the movie is another question altogether, and probably one we won’t find out the answer to for sometime., which is the source of this story, had this to say about the character’s connection to Infinity War and Thanos in particular:

Gamora was an integral part of the first “Guardians of the Galaxy” film and she has the potential to be just as significant in “Avengers: Infinity War.” As a former daughter of Thanos, Gamora has special inside knowledge of how Thanos thinks and operates, which may prove to be especially important as he ramps up his effort to collect the Infinity Stones.
