Expo images & clip, Lego cross-promotion, and new posters for DOJ. Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice looks to have officially kicked off 2015’s convention season, at this year’s Licensing International Expo, in Las Vegas. Not only did the exhibit offer an up-close look at Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), and Wonder Woman’s (Gal Gadot) costumes, but also an apparently fully functional (as movie props go, I imagine) Batmobile; and Collider’s Steve Weintraub just happened to be on hand, to take only a couple of quick snaps.
Warner Bros. Consumer Products’ Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice showcase, for Licensing International Expo 2015:
The Batman costume up first; because: Batman:
New Bat(fleck), new anti-ballistic Bat threads.
But we’ve already seen the ‘Hope’ hugger outfit; so –
On to Wonder Woman’s first big screen outfitting:
And oh, the accessories she will be outfitted with….
If you can read this – oops, there goes your larynx!
I’d imagine Amazonian footwear to be easier on the arches; but throwing shade on a woman’s shoes draws attention to the larynx….
Despite all the impressive detail, that went into costume designer Michael Wilkinson‘s realization of Wonder Woman, however, it’s still Batman vs Superman; and since Snyder’s Superman is neither new, nor equipped with signature swag….
Comes with big guns,
‘Cause like the Bat says:
“I don’t normally shoot guns; but when I do – “
“It’s while driving one of my bitchin’ rides.”
“Stay on the right side of the law, my friends.”
Space for driver, and whomever makes the driver consider the ejector seat button.
– And maybe room for Nien Nunb
Things not to touch, as passenger….
And other-some-such mecha-ry
I mention the guns…?
I’m impressed. You want more nuanced commentary – go check with Popular Science/ Mechanics; but I can let you in on what the engine sounds like.
The Batmobile revved up reveal:
With the DOJ costumes protected under customary display cases, I imagine that the exposed Batmobile was protected by a cutting laser grid (something was keeping the onlookers at bay); otherwise, its ‘defense’ systems were also active. Unless it was designed from scratch, in response to Superman’s arrival, I’m left wondering just what went into the making of the most offensively outfitted live-action Batmobile ever.
Batmobile write up & specs:
Single-handedly designed and fabricated in near complete seclusion by The Batman, this infamous pursuit and capture vehicle has earned its reputation as the apex predator on the mean streets of Gotham City. Over powered with an unmatched hybrid of prototype military and civilian performance technologies, this top machine has been estimated to reach speeds of up to 205 MPH. The Batmobile’s imposing defense capabilities, supported by stolen Wayne Industries technologies, have been integrated with the latest in covert military grade armaments, stealth and active protection systems.
– Twin .50 caliber retractable machine gun turret
– Fully armored
– Active Protection Systems/Anti-ballistics
– 20 ft. long/12 ft. wide
– 7000 lbs.
Well, in the wake of the DOJ trailer, and the film’s official synopsis, a case could be made for all that fire power (and crowd control capabilities); but a pair of new posters, which could serve as companions to those releases, raise a few questions.
Heroic Hollywood instagram posters:
Tell him how you really feel. He sees & hears all.
Don’t bother. He doesn’t do feelings.
Hostility towards Superman has already been established; but I don’t see why Gotham’s vigilante would be completely welcomed, as the would-be savior of Metropolis (and the World, by extension). It might also be a bit soon for deifying Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg); but the biggest question might concern the legitimacy of the posters, themselves. Not to question the integrity of Heroic Hollywood, but the posters are yet to be confirmed as official releases. Not that there’s anything wrong with fan made mock-ups, either. DIY fans have already proven that they can be every bit as helpful, to a major studio release, as corrosive.
Speaking of corrosive influences, of questionable origin….
Batman wins… one way, or another.
Ah, but if all that dark, brooding, heavy material (with a side of menacing heavy metal), starts wearing thin, this far out… there’s always LEGO.

So there you have it; enough geek-out material, over a single source, for just about every lover, hater, and casual casualty of the crossfire. Some of you may earn yourselves a nap, once Warner Bros. gets really serious about the hard sell.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice also stars Jeremy Irons, Jason Momoa, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto, Tj Norris, and Ray Fisher. It is scheduled for a March 25, 2016 U.S. theatrical release.
