Scoot McNairy‘s Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice character revealed? There have been pictures being released online from the sets of Zack Snyder’s upcoming film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice with one involving actor Scoot McNairy. Questions have been swirling about who the Halt and Catch Fire star would be playing in the film after seeing pictures of him with CGI green socks on.
ComicBookMovie.com reports that pictures of Scoot McNairy appeared online with the actor apparently revealed to be playing the role of cameraman Jimmy Olsen. The pictures were found at The Devil Eyes website recently with an extra claiming that he is indeed playing Jimmy Olsen but with a twist.
The extra said: “Scoot is playing Jimmy Olsen, but with a bit of a twist. Jimmy was injured during the battle of Zod vs. Superman. His legs where pinned under falling building rubble and that caused him to lose the legs. He now walks with the use of two prosthetic legs.” The source goes on to add “He doesn’t blame Superman for it [his loss of legs]. He feels grateful that Superman saved the world.”
As some of us fans know, Jimmy Olsen is the photographer who works at the Daily Planet where Superman’s alter ego Clark Kent (Henry Cavill) works at. The character has made appearances in both TV and film versions of Superman including the original Superman film series, Superman Returns, Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, and Smallville.
Even though Jimmy Olsen didn’t appear in Man of Steel, Blastr reported back in 2013 that there was a role in the film’s roster named Jenny Olsen. It is possible that Jimmy was to be re-imagined as a woman in the film since Zach Snyder made some changes to the characters like Lois Lane (Amy Adams) being a redhead and Perry White (Laurence Fishburne) being an African American. Either Zach is changing Jimmy back to male or Scoot could be playing a different character all together. We may never know until the Man of Steel sequel arrives in 2016.
