Birth of the Dragon Trailer 2

BH Tilt and WWE Studios have released the second movie trailer for Birth of the Dragon (2016). The first trailer for Birth of the Dragon was told from the perspective of Steve McKee (Billy Magnussen). He was the entry character, the bridge for the audience, distilling the unknown while informing the viewer on plot-points. This movie trailer placed Bruce Lee (Philip Ng) front and center, as he should have been the first time around.

Much of what fans love about Bruce Lee was present in Ng’s interpretation of Bruce Lee: he was confident in himself and his fighting abilities and he was witty, even in a life or death situation.

There was a lot of humor to be had in this trailer, mostly from Bruce Lee. His contention that he was the future and Wong Jack Man (Yu Xia) was the past was an interesting motif to introduce into the film.

Birth of the Dragon‘s plot synopsis: “In 1964 [in San Francisco], Bruce Lee took on Wong Jack Man in one of the most controversial fights of all time…BIRTH OF THE DRAGON is a modern take on the classic movies that Bruce Lee was known for. It takes its inspiration from the epic and still controversial showdown between an up-and-coming Bruce Lee and kung fu master Wong Jack Man – a battle that gave birth to a legend.”

George Nolfi‘s Birth of the Dragon also stars Terry Chen, Ron Yuan, Darren E. Scott, Billy Magnussen, Vanessa Ross, Natalie Stephany Aguilar, Teresa Navarro, Christina July Kim, Steven Wiig, Steven Roberts, King Lau, Yee Jee Tso, Melody Peng, and Felix Chu.
