[White Christmas is Black Mirror’s] first seasonal special…in the form of a one-off episode.

Mad Men’s Jon Hamm takes the lead as Matt, while Rafe Spall plays Potter, his companion. The two are holed up in a mysterious snowy outpost and attempt to figure each other out with stories of their past lives.

It’s a very 2014 tale, with pick-up artists, real-life ‘blocking’ and the perils of smart gadgets all woven into the plot. “Be careful what you wish for,” it warns.”

Charlie Brooker, the series creator, also had this to say:

“I always enjoy a good ghost story at Christmas, and I’m a sucker for the Amicus compendium horror movies of the 70s,” [Charlie Brooker] told the Radio Times. “Our aim is to create the Black Mirror equivalent of that.”

Phil Clarke, Channel 4’s head of comedy, described it as:

a dystopian future festive tale, that intertwines three stories to deliver a dramatic and thrilling twist. It’s satirical, comic, disturbing, and thought provoking.
