BLACK PANTHER (2018): Chadwick Boseman Teases Appearance of His Predecessors

Chadwick Boseman Hints at a Possible Appearance By the Previous Black Panthers

Comic book fans know that there were many rulers of Wakanda before T’Challa. Many of these leaders also had the chance to take on the mantle Black Panther. Chadwick Boseman is also aware of that, teasing at a possibility to see them in the upcoming film.

Chatting with Yahoo! Movies (via CBM), Chadwick Boseman abruptly went to disprove ant ideas that T’Challa had his own origin story told in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far. Talking about what we can expect from his character on Black Panther, he said:

If you saw the tease at the end [of ‘Civil War’] in Wakanda, that’s more mystery there so I think there’s a lot to reveal about the character.   You’re going to learn about Wakanda, its culture, its traditions, the past.  You can go through all the comic books and know that there’s more Panthers that have existed in the past – that’s origin.

Will we be seeing the previous titleholder of the Black Panther, starting with T’Chaka? John Kani previously played T’Challa’s father in Captain America: Civil War, so we may get to see a younger version on him in flashbacks. What do you guys think?
