Blade of the Immortal Red Band Trailer
The red band movie trailer for Blade of the Immortal / Mugen no jûnin (2017) has been released by Magnet Releasing. Takashi Miike‘s last samurai film, 13 Assassins / Jûsan-nin no shikaku, had a mixture of humor, strategy, battles, and bloodshed. This trailer for Blade of the Immortal is emphasizing the film’s humor and bloodshed.
Blade of the Immortal is far funnier than the viewer might have assumed, at least that is the way that the situations are being presented in this trailer. Blade of the Immortal is also a very gory film with Manji (Takuya Kimura) appearing to have some of the regenerative abilities of Deadpool. That will make Manji’s sword fights unusual.
Blade of the Immortal‘s plot synopsis: based on the comic book series by Hiroaki Samura, “Manji, a highly skilled samurai, becomes cursed with immortality after a legendary battle. Haunted by the brutal murder of his sister, Manji knows that only fighting evil will regain his soul. He promises to help a young girl named Rin avenge her parents, who were killed by a group of master swordsmen led by ruthless warrior Anotsu. The mission will change Manji in ways he could never imagine – the 100th film by master director Takashi Miike.”
Blade of the Immortal also stars Hana Sugisaki, Sôta Fukushi, Hayato Ichihara, Erika Toda, Kazuki Kitamura, Chiaki Kuriyama, Ebizô Ichikawa, and Min Tanaka.
