Amazon has already started taking pre-orders for Star Trek Into Darkness and Paramount has not even announced its release on Blu-ray. Amazon currently offers three different pre-orders (BD/DVD/DC/UV; 3DBD/DVD/DC/UV; and 3DBD/DVD/DC/UV with Star Fleet Phaser Limited Edition Gift Set) for the film which opened in theaters May 17, 2013.

HBO releases True Blood: the Complete Fifth Season today in a Digipack/BD/DVD/DC combo for $79.98. The set features 1080p MPEG-4 AVC video with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 sound and subtitles in nine languages.

Warner Bros. also releases Beautiful Creatures today in a two-disc Blu-ray + DVD+ UltraViolet combo pack for $35.99. The set features 1080p resolution at a 2.40:1 aspect ratio with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 audio. The set has 24 minutes of behind-the-scenes extras, trailers, and eight minutes of deleted scenes.

Universal Home Studios Home Entertainment will bring Steven Soderbergh‘s last theatrical project, Side Effects, to Blu-ray today, May 21, 2013. The film boasts refreshing performances from Jude Law and Rooney Mara while examining the blithe promotion of the antidepressant industry as the cure for societies ills through the lens of a young socialite quite possibly having a breakdown. Side Effects is full of enough humor (sometimes dark) and movie references to entertain novice viewers and film buffs alike.

Magnolia Pictures will make its Sundance Grand Jury Prize-nominated offering A Place at the Table (2012) available on June 25, 2013. Kristi Jacobson and Lori Silverbush‘s documentary examines the problem of hunger in the United States—a problem that affects 50 million Americans and one out of every four children. They tell the stories of real children and their families interwoven with expert commentary, activists like Top Chef’s Tom Colicchio and Oscar-winning actor Jeff Bridges, and ordinary citizens striving to make a difference. Disc extras include deleted scenes, deleted interviews, interviews with cast and crew, ASX TV: a Look at A Place at the Table, A Good Day PSA, A Place at the Table—The Book, The Full Effect: Plum Organics Mission to Nourish Children Across America, Commentary with Director Kristi Jacobson Director Lori Silverbush and Tom Colicchio, and Theatrical Trailers.

Walt Disney Home Entertainment has announced the release on Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo pack of the Return to Neverland on August 20, 2013. The sequel to the 1953 classic Peter Pan follows Wendy’s daughter Jane to Never Never Land. The Blu-ray will have a 1080p video presentation with a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 surround track.

The company will also release The Muppet Movie: Nearly 35th Anniversary Edition in a special Blu-ray/Digital Copy combo pack on August 13, 2013. The original film stars Dom DeLuise, Mel Brooks, Steve Martin, Richard Pryor, Madeline Kahn, Orson Welles, James Coburn, Elliot Gould, Cloris Leachman, Telly Savalas, Edgar Bergen, Carol Kane, Charles Durning, Austin Pendleton, Charlie McCarthy, and all your favorite muppets. Disc special features include a Disney Intermission, Starring the Muppets, All New Frog-E-Oke Sing Along, and Kermit: A Frog’s Life.

Warner Bros. Released Lego Batman The Movie – DC Superheroes Unite on Blu-ray/DVD/UltraViolet combo pack today. The set also comes with a LEGO Clark Kent/Superman Figurine and retails for $24.98.

Disney/Buena Vista releases the Blu-ray combo pack (BD/DVD) of My Neighbor Totoro (Tonari no Totoro)(1988) today for 39.99. The set comes in full 1080p and maintains the original 1.85:1 aspect ratio. There are three different audio tracks, Japanese, English, and French, all in DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0; the discs are subtitled in English, English SDH, and French.

StudioCanal will release Michael Gondry‘s latest film L’écume des jours a.k.a. Mood Indigo on standard and collector’s edition Blu-ray on August 27, 2013. The film stars Audrey Tatou, Omar Sy, and Romain Duris and is based on Boris Vian‘s surrealistic novel. The collector’s edition will feature a director’s cut of the film, a featurette, CD with music from Mood Indigo, photographs, and more.

Universal Studios’ UK branch will release director Sacha Bennett’s action thriller Get Lucky on Blu-ray August 26, 2013. Career criminals Raphael and Lucky take part in a botched job and find themselves indebted to local gangsters. They hatch a plan to pull off a huge heist to pay their debts and get themselves out of hot water.

Lionsgate Films set the release on Blu-ray director Peter Webber‘s Emperor (2012) for August 13, 2013. The film stars Tommy Lee Jones, Matthew Fox, and Eriko Hatsune and fictionalizes the days immediately following Japan’s WWII surrender to the Allied Nations. General Douglas MacArthur (Jones) challenges his Japan expert (Fox) to provide him with research to allow him to decide whether the Japanese Emperor, who is worshipped as a God by his people, should be saved or punished for war crimes. Extras will include: Revenge or Justice—The Making of Emperor featurette, Audio Commentary with Director Peter Webber and Producer Yoko Narahashi, a behind-the-scenes photo gallery, a historical photo gallery, and deleted scenes.

Lionsgate also released Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s action vehicle The Last Stand (2013) today for $39.99. Featuring Johnny Knoxville, Jaimie Alexander, Zach Gilford, Luis Guzman, and Peter Stormare in the supporting cast, the film set has a good chunk of extras including Not In My Town: Making The Last Stand, Cornfield Chaos: Scene Breakdown, The Dinkum Firearm & Historic Weaponry Museum Tour, Actor-Cam Anarchy: With Johnny Knoxville and Jaimie Alexander, Deleted scenes, and Extended scenes.

Music Box Films has acquired the U.S. and Canadian distribution rights to Arnaud des Pallières‘ most recent film Michael Kolhaas (2013). Adapted from the 1811 Heinrich von Kleist novel, the film follows Kolhaas, a horse merchant, who suffers an insult at the hands of a baron. When he fails to get justice, he declares war on society itself. It stars Mads Mikkelsen who previously won the Best Actor award at Cannes for The Hunt and starred in Denmark’s Oscar entry A Royal Affair.

Universal has set an August 13, 2013 release date for The Office: Season 9 on Blu-ray and DVD and The Mindy Project: Season One on DVD only.

Sony will release Dead Man Down on Blu-ray and DVD on July 9, 2013 with a SRP of $35.99 and $26.99). Sony Pictures released the Jason Statham action vehicle Parker today in a Blu-ray disc + UltraViolet + Digital Copy pack for $35.99. The film also stars Jennifer Lopez, Nick Nolte, and Michael Chiklis.
