Box Office August 23-25, 2013. Lee Daniels’ The Butler was the Number One film at the box office over the weekend for the second week in a row with $17 Million. We’re the Millers was Second for third weeks in a row with $13.5 Million. The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones premiered in Third Place with $9.3 Million. The World’s End premiered in Fourth Place with $8.9 Million. Planes was Fifth for the second week in a row with $8.5 Million. Elysium, You’re Next, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, Blue Jasmine, and Kick-Ass 2 rounded out the top ten respectively.

The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is a 2013 American-German action adventure fantasy film based on the first book of The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. The story takes place in an urban and contemporary New York City. Directed by Harald Zwart, the film stars Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Kevin Zegers, Jemima West, Godfrey Gao, Lena Headey, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Aidan Turner, Robert Sheehan, Kevin Durand, and Jared Harris.

The World’s End is a 2013 British science fiction comedy film directed by Edgar Wright, written by Wright and Simon Pegg, and starring Pegg, Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman, and Eddie Marsan. It is the third in the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy, following Shaun of the Dead (2004) and Hot Fuzz (2007). The film follows a group of friends who discover an alien invasion during an epic pub crawl in their hometown. Wright has described the film as “social science fiction” in the tradition of John Wyndham and Samuel Youd.

The film is produced by Relativity Media, Big Talk Productions, and Working Title Films. Filming began in September 2012 at locations in Welwyn Garden City and Letchworth Garden City. Part of the film was also shot at High Wycombe railway station in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Filming ended on 22 December 2012.

You’re Next is a 2013 American horror film directed and edited by Adam Wingard and written by Simon Barrett. The film had its world premiere at the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival Midnight Madness program.
