Box Office: January 17-19, 2014: RIDE ALONG, LONE SURVIVOR, NUT JOB

Box Office January 17-19, 2014. Ride Along premiered in the Number One at the box office over the weekend with $41.6 Million. Lone Survivor was Second with $22.1 million. The Nut Job premiered in Third Place with $20.5 Million. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit premiered in Fourth Place with $17.2 Million. Frozen was Fifth with $11.9 Million for $332.6 Million so far. American Hustle, Devil’s Due (which premiered this weekend),  August: Osage County, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Saving Mr. Banks rounded out the top ten respectively.

Ride Along is a 2014 American comedy film directed by Tim Story and written by Greg Coolidge, Jason Mantzoukas, and Phil Hay & Matt Manfredi. The film stars Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, John Leguizamo, Bruce McGill, Tika Sumpter and Laurence Fishburne.

The Nut Job is a 2014 Canadian-South Korean-American 3D computer animated comedy film directed by Peter Lepeniotis. It is written by Lorne Cameron and Peter Lepeniotis, starring Will Arnett, Brendan Fraser, Gabriel Iglesias, Liam Neeson and Katherine Heigl. The film is based on the 2005 short animated film Surly Squirrel by Lepeniotis.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit is a 2014 American action thriller film, directed by and co-starring Kenneth Branagh and featuring the Jack Ryan character created by Tom Clancy. It is the fifth in the Jack Ryan film series and is also a reboot that departs from the previous installments. Unlike its predecessors it is not an adaptation of a particular Tom Clancy novel, but rather an original story. Chris Pine stars in the title role, becoming the fourth actor to play Ryan, following Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, and Ben Affleck.

Devil’s Due is an American supernatural horror film directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, written by Lindsay Devlin. The film stars Allison Miller, Zach Gilford, and Sam Anderson.
