Box Office: March 5-7, 2010

People went mad for Alice. Alice in Wonderland (2010) premiered in the Number One spot at the box office this weekend with $116.3 Million. Brookyln’s Finest premiered in Second Place with $13.5 Million. Shutter Island was Third with $13.3 Million. Cop Out was Fourth with $9.1 Million. Avatar was Fifth with $7.7 Million for a total of $720.1 Million so far. The Crazies (2010), Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, Valintine’s Day, Crazy Heart, and Dear John rounded out the top ten respectively.

  • Wow, Alice did that much on its first weekend?! that's crazy! I didn't see it yet, but I hear is pretty good, but the 3D was nothing special.

  • Alice was very good, of course the usual suspects aka unwarranted Burton haters are crapping on it all over the internet (rolls eyes hard). It really didn't need 3D but I understand that 3D is the new hotness so everybody will be doing it to take a slice of that blueberry Avatar pie. I can't wait to buy it on Blu-Ray to salivate over the bright, pretty colors.

  • Everybody was surprised at its take. Many will contribute it to being in 3D and drafting off of the good bestowed upon Avatar.

  • I've decided to see it this week or next so there (tongue sticking out). I'm a Burton fan.
