Box Office: May 19-21, 2017

Alien: Covenant was Number One at the box office over the weekend with $36 Million. Alien: Covenant barely beat Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in its third week of release. I predicted in my last edition of Now In-Theater that Alien: Covenant would open in second place and that perdition was off by less than a million dollars. Opening in first place was a technical win for the producers of Alien: Covenant. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 was Second with $35 Million for $301.7 Million so far. World-wide, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 has made $732.5 Million.

Everything, Everything premiered in Third Place this weekend with $12 Million. Snatched was Fourth with $7.6 Million. Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul premiered in Fifth Place with $7.2 Million. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, The Fate of the Furious, The Boss Baby, Beauty and the Beast, How to be a Latin Lover rounded out the Top Ten respectively.
