Box Office: May 4-6, 2012. The Avengers premiered in the Number One spot at the box office this weekend with $200.3 Million. Think Like a Man was Second with $8 Million. The Hunger Games was Third with $5.7 Million for $380.7 Million so far. The Lucky One was Fourth with $5.5 Million. The Pirates! Band of Misfits was Fifth with $5.4 Million. The Five-Year Engagement, The Raven, Safe, Chimpanzee, and The Three Stooges rounded out the top ten respectively.

Marvel’s The Avengers (classified in the UK and Ireland under the title Marvel Avengers Assemble) is a 2012 American superhero film produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures, based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. It is the sixth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film is written and directed by Joss Whedon and features an ensemble cast that includes Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Clark Gregg, Cobie Smulders, Stellan SkarsgÃ¥rd and Samuel L. Jackson.
