The prophecy was correct. 2012 premiered in the Number One spot at the box office this weekend with $65 Million. A Christmas Carol (2009) was Second with $22.3 Million. The Men Who Stare at Goats was Third with $6.2 Million. Precious: Based on the Novel “Push” by Sapphire, which made the most this weekend per screen, $35,000, was Fourth with $6 Million. Michael Jackson’s This Is It was Fifth with 5.1 Million. Couples Retreat, Paranormal Activity, Law Abiding Citizen, and The Box rounded out the top ten respectively.

2012 also booming in my country, maybe because of the special effect and the curiosity of doomsday
Those are the only reasons why I want to see it.
I enjoyed 2012, the plot sucked, but the action was great.
Unfortunately this is becoming Emmerich's cinematic formula.
Didn't realize it was the same producer, but the first thing that came to my mind was “I hope 2012 is not like the Day After Tomorrow” it was slightly better, but pretty much the same concept.
He directed both those films, Independence Day, Stargate, 10,000 BC, and Universal Soldier.
