Where the audience would be this weekend was in no doubt. Where the Wild Things Are premiered in the Number One spot this weekend at the box office with $32.4 Million. Law Abiding Citizen premiered in Second Place with $21.2 Million. Paranormal Activity was Third with $20 Million with a 155.2% positive change since last week, adding an additional 600 theaters to its viewing roster. Couples Retreat was Fourth with $17.9 Million. The Stepfather (2009) premiered in Fifth Place with $12.3 Million. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, Zombieland, Toy Story / Toy Story 2 (3D), Surrogates, and The Invention of Lying rounded out the top ten respectively.
