Box Office: September 6-8, 2013: RIDDICK, THE BUTLER, PLANES, ELYSIUM

Box Office September 6-8, 2013. Riddick premiered in the Number One spot at the box office over the weekend with $18.6 Million. Lee Daniels’ The Butler was Second for the second week in a row with $8.9 Million. Instructions Not Included was Third with $8.1 Million. We’re the Millers was Fourth with $7.9 Million for $123.8 Million so far. Planes was Fifth Place with $4.2 Million. One Direction: This is Us, Elysium, Blue Jasmine, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, and The World’s End rounded out the top ten respectively.

Riddick is a 2013 American science fiction action film, the third installment in the The Chronicles of Riddick film series. Produced by and starring Vin Diesel as the title character, Riddick is co-written and directed by David Twohy, who previously wrote and directed the first two installments, Pitch Black (2000) and The Chronicles of Riddick (2004).
