Martin Koolhoven‘s Brimstone (2016) movie trailer stars Dakota Fanning, Kit Harington, Carice van Houten, Guy Pearce, and Paul Anderson. Brimstone‘s plot synopsis: “A triumphant epic of survival and a tale of powerful womanhood and resistance against the unforgiving cruelty of a hell on earth. Our heroine is Liz (Dakota Fanning), carved from the beautiful wilderness, full of heart and grit, hunted by a vengeful Preacher (Guy Pearce) – a diabolical zealot and her twisted nemesis. But Liz is a genuine survivor; she’s no victim – a woman of fearsome strength who responds with astonishing bravery to claim the better life she and her daughter deserve. Retribution is coming.”

I loved every second of this trailer. Like Leonardo DiCaprio in Django Unchained, Guy Pearce easily handles portraying an outwardly civil but inwardly evil individual. It is he whom the viewer awaits to see on-screen throughout the trailer. The viewer wants to see what he says or does next. The same could be said, to a lesser degree, about Dakota Fanning, who reacts to the stimuli presented to her with increasing degrees or emotion and desperation.

Brimstone also stars Carla Juri, Emilia Jones, Naomi Battrick, Frederick Schmidt, William Houston, Tygo Gernandt, Ivy George, Bill Tangradi, Adrian Sparks, and Jack Roth.
