CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (2016): Crossbones May Be Main Villain

Frank Grillo Crossbones

Crossbones Reportedly Main Antagonist in Captain America: Civil War. Just recently, we found out that actor Daniel Bruhl would be playing a villain on Captain America: Civil War. However, he won’t be playing the main antagonist because Frank Grillo’s Crossbones is.

Variety’s own Justin Kroll went on Twitter stating that Frank Grillo would return to play the main villain. Here’s what Kroll tweeted: “Beat by Marvel in that one, two things he will play villain but not main one, Crossbones still main.” Kroll’s tweet was in reference to the announcement of Daniel Bruhl cast in a unspecified villainous role, saying he’s only second to Crossbones.

It was broadly speculated that Frank Grillo’s Brock Rumlow would play a huge part in future Captain America films. Last we heard from Frank Grillo, he claimed that he knew very little on Marvel’s plans for his character to appear, especially in the third Captain America film. It would make sense to have Crossbones in the film since he is the one who assassinates our Star-Spangled Avenger at the end of the Civil War storyline in the comics.

Crossbones being in the picture would add to the plot where Captain America and Iron Man would go head-to-head. Other characters appearing include the Bucky/Winter Soldier, Falcon, and Black Panther.

Do you guys think Crossbones would be the main villain on Captain America: Civil War? The film will be released on May 6, 2016.
