- a sequence of numeric codes generated at regular intervals by a timing system. Time codes are used extensively for synchronization, and for logging material in recorded media.

clapperboard
- a device used to synchronize picture and sound. It records the scene, take, director, director of photography, date, name of the film (written on the front) and is displayed for the camera.
