Freeform Planning to Premiere Cloak and Dagger in Winter 2018

We are anxiously awaiting the release of Cloak and Dagger ever since it was announced to be Marvel’s next TV series. Premiering on Freeform, we haven’t heard when it will come out. The good news is we now have an idea when to see it, but it’s going to be a while.

The Hollywood Reporter uncovered some information on the status of Cloak and Dagger, revealing that the series won’t premiere until Winter 2018. The date is what Freeform is looking to focus on for now, despite many people thinking it might premiere sometime next year. It appears that both Marvel and ABC are taking their time working on the show. The script for the pilot is getting a rewrite as we speak by showrunner Joe Pokaski.

The superhero love story was ordered to series back in April, but ABC seems like they want to be extra cautious on this since cancelling Agent Carter and Marvel’s Most Wanted. Being produced by Marvel Television and ABC Studios, Cloak and Dagger follows the story of Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from different backgrounds who tackle their newfound powers as they also fall in love. Tandy can release daggers of light while Tyrone can surround people into darkness.
