Crash Test Movie Trailer Arrives. Rob Huebel and Paul Scheer‘s Crash Test movie trailer stars Rob Huebel, Paul Scheer, Aubrey Plaza, Aziz Ansari, Rob Corddry, and Thomas Lennon. Crash Test‘s plot synopsis: “Paramount Digital Entertainment is bringing a new Crash Test comedy special to Vimeo on Demand, and it’s not just a recorded version of one of the shows at the UCB Theatre. Instead, this comedy special was recorded on a moving bus and at various tops that the Crash Test vehicle made in Los Angeles, and there’s a ton of awesome special guests.”
I have enjoyed numerous projects by most of the people involved in this film, from Rob Huebel in Children’s Hospital to Paul Scheer in How Did This Get Made? to Aubrey Plaza and Aziz Ansari in Funny People and Scott Pilgrim vs The World and Rob Corddry in anything he’s in. These people are funny and kind and welcoming and generate an energy that makes you want to be around them. The premise of this stand-up special is really, really exciting. It’d be one thing if you were just watching a one-hour special filmed on a bus, but no, this seems to have a sort of Universal Studios, Walt Disney ride aspect attached to it, where they drive their audience from location to location, where, basically, set-pieces that move the story forward are waiting. Hell, even the Reno 911 guys show up, in character, at one point. It’s genius, actually, if the narrative is pulled off effectively. I’m very excited to see this play out.
