Sean Anders‘ Daddy’s Home 2 (2017) movie trailer stars Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini, Mel Gibson, Will Ferrell, and John Lithgow. Daddy’s Home 2‘s plot synopsis: “In the sequel to the 2015 global smash, father and stepfather, Dusty (Mark Wahlberg) and Brad (Will Ferrell) have joined forces to provide their kids with the perfect Christmas. Their newfound partnership is put to the test when Dusty’s old-school, macho Dad (Mel Gibson) and Brad’s ultra-affectionate and emotional Dad (John Lithgow) arrive just in time to throw the holiday into complete chaos.”

I have not seen yet the original film in the series. I don’t have any plans to though I remember smiling multiple times during that film’s trailer. This time around, instead of being enemies, Dusty (Mark Wahlberg) and Brad (Will Ferrell) are friends. Their unique bond is put through a trial by fire with their fathers, men at emotional extremes in one way or another, arrive for the holidays. From the looks of it, each son begins to side with their father.

What was not shown in this Daddy’s Home 2 trailer is if the fathers begin to engage in a competition for their grandchildren’s affection like their sons did in the first film.

Daddy’s Home 2 also stars John Cena, Alessandra Ambrosio, Scarlett Estevez, Owen Vaccaro, Didi Costine, Marybeth Paul, Yamilah Saravong, Susan Garibotto, Jose Guns Alves, and Arthur Hiou.
