DC’S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW: Caity Lotz Talks White Canary

Caity Lotz Discusses White Canary in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. It’s only been two weeks since we saw the teaser trailer for The CW’s upcoming superhero series DC’s Legends of Tomorrow where we found out Caity Lotz will return carrying a new name, White Canary.

At the network upfronts, Caity Lotz talked with TVLine regarding her new crime fighting alter ego and how it will differ from her other superhero identity on Arrow. First off, the actress confirmed that her new character would still have the same fighting style of martial arts like the Canary has. The only big change is that, besides the costume, her weapons will be the escrima sticks instead of the bo staff. Lotz also said that the scale of the show will be much bigger than she first thought.

It’s going to be big.  I did not really know much about the show [initially] but I said ‘I want to do it, I trust you guys.’  And when we were shooting our teaser, they were telling me some of the stuff that’s going to be happening and I was like ‘This is way cooler – not that I didn’t think it would be cool…but the stuff [happening],  I wasn’t imagining or picturing [that].  It’s going to be really fun to shoot and I think people are going to like it.

According to DC Comics lore, the White Canary was a character featured in the Birds of Prey back in 2010. Not much is known about her except that she is part of the Twelve Brothers in Silk and a skilled martial artist in the same veins as Lady Shiva. It’s going to be interesting to see what route this version of the White Canary will go to fit with the DC TV universe.
