Producers Give More Details on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. There has been little information regarding characters like Hawkman and the mysterious Jay Jackson on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, so the producers of the show shed some light on them and a certain futuristic hero.

The Hollywood Reporter spoke with EP’s Marc Guggenheim and Phil Klemmer regarding some new information about the The CW series’ first season. When it came to looking for the right tone and inspiration for the series, Guggenheim revealed that he persuaded the writing team to read Dan Jurgen’s 2011 comic book Time Masters: Vanishing Point, saying it is “a good series for its depiction of Rip Hunter and a crazy combination of characters.”

It’s good to note that The Flash’s Professor Zoom made an appearance at the end of Vanishing Point. Could the series also do the same and bring the evil speedster on the show? Guggenheim also told THR that “the show will contain elements of Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteisJustice League International run” – explaining the lighter tones of both series.

So what about Hawkman? Well, the producers said that Falk Hentschel’s Hawkman would have the same origin as the comics where he is 5,000 years old and still has all his memories from his past lives. Guggenheim didn’t confirm whether Hawkman’s partner Hawkgirl (Ciara Renee) would be an alien from Thanagar but claimed that everyone will “get a chance to see” her origin, calling it “one of the more faithful origins that [The CW] have told.”

No one knew what DC character Franz Drameh would play after being cast as Jay Jackson. So would he be the other half of Firestorm or is his name a code for another DC hero? Well, Klemmer said that Jay Jackson not code for any other DC superhero” – so he could be an original character.

Lastly, the EPs touched upon whether the time travel show could include DC character Booster Gold. Klemmer commented on it saying, “I wish I could tease a Booster thing, but you might have to wait a good long while – at least on our show.” So is Booster Gold being put on hold for later or is there a bigger plan for him in the movies? “Perhaps Booster is being groomed for bigger things…” Klemmer said, modestly.
