Deadpool 2 Casts Japanese Actress Shiori Kutsuna in Major Role

With filming about to begin on Deadpool 2 towards the end of June, the cast continues to grow as 20th Century Fox recently hired another actress in the form of Japanese import Shiori Kutsuna. Even though nothing has been revealed on her character, it’s reportedly a key role.

Deadline first reported that the studio cast Shiori Kutsuna in an important role for the upcoming sequel to the hit film Deadpool. There hasn’t been any more news regarding the role that the actress would be playing. The 24-year-old actress joins other recent additions like Josh Brolin as Cable, Zazie Beetz as Domino, and Jack Kesy as the main villain. Besides Ryan Reynolds, other cast members like Morena Baccarin, Leslie Uggams, Stefan Kapicic, and Brianna Hildebrand will reprise their roles from the first film.

David Leitch will be taking over as director for the sequel with production set to begin on June 26. Kutsana made her debut in Hollywood with the film Oh, Lucy!, based on the short film of the same name. She starred alongside Josh Hartnett, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this year. She is next slated to appear in The Outsider opposite Jared Leto coming out later this year. We still don’t have a release date for Deadpool 2, but we know it comes out sometime in 2018. What do you guys think of the latest casting? Who do you think she will play as?
