Julian Dennison Set To Play Role In Deadpool 2

Paper Planes actor Julian Dennison is the latest actor to join the cast of 20th Century Fox‘s upcoming superhero follow-up Deadpool 2.

A native of New Zealand, the 14-year old child made his debut on the big screen in 2013’s Shopping. For his role in the movie, he won a New Zealand Film Award for Best Supporting Actor and followed it up with a turn in the aformentioned Planes. His performance in that film in turn gained the attention of director Taika Waititi, who cast Dennison in his upcoming movie Hunt for the Wilderpeople.

It is unknown what exactly Dennison’s role in the Deadpool sequel will be, but several of his co-stars are have already been revealed. In addition to Ryan Reynolds, Leslie Uggams, Morena Baccarin, and Stefan Kapicic are all slated to return.

Superherohype, the source of this story, shares the following information about Dennison’s Wilderpeople colloborator Taika Waititi’s reaction to the news:

Hunt for the Wilderpeople director Taika Waititi, currently in post-production on Thor: Ragnarok, took to Twitter after seeing the reveal, saying: “Never in my wilderpeoplest dreams would I have imagined this picture existing. But…. Yessss.”

The site also adds:

John Wick‘s David Leitch is directing Deadpool 2 from a screenplay by the returning “real heroes here,” screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Reynolds is again serving as a producer on Deadpool 2 alongside X-Men franchise caretakers Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner.
