DEADPOOL (2016): Ryan Reynolds Discusses Upcoming Film

Deadpool

Ryan Reynolds Gives Details on Deadpool Film. It’s been a long road for Deadpool to get his own solo film but it was worth the wait as it’s all set for production in two months. Ryan Reynolds talked about the film’s long journey to getting made the right way.

Speaking with MTV, Reynolds said that news on production happened quickly and 20th Century Fox is giving the film more creative freedom. “It’s been a long time, but it’s happened in the right way and that’s all that matters,” Reynolds told MTV. “We don’t have the kind of money that most superhero movies do, but that’s great, actually. Necessity is the mother of invention, and that’s why we get to make the movie we want to make.”

Deadpool marks Ryan Reynolds’ second solo superhero movie after the disastrous Green Lantern back in 2011. When asked whether he felt nervous about playing another superhero, the actor said he doesn’t feel any pressure on his shoulders. “No, no, no, of course not. You gotta have faith in the people you’re working with, and have faith in the prep, and that’s all I’m doing. On this one, the prep’s been 11 years. You’d like to think you’re putting your best foot forward, but we’ll see.”

Deadpool had a positive reaction to fans after test footage was leaked online last summer. Reynolds said he wasn’t responsible for the leak, but he sure was glad it did. “I would have Fox’s lawyers so far up my ass they could smell Wade Wilson’s feet. No, no, no I didn’t leak it. But I would have. Looking back now, in a heartbeat. I should go home and scan the old hard drive and see what I’ve got in there.”
