DEADPOOL (2016): Sequel Already Gets Greenlit

Deadpool Sequel

A Sequel for Deadpool in the Works. Deadpool doesn’t hit theaters until Friday, but 20th Century Fox is looking to secure the antihero’s future by greenlighting a sequel. The upcoming sequel should have Ryan Reynolds coming back as Deadpool with most of the film crew returning.

With Deadpool sure to be a hit at the box office according to analysts, it should come to no surprise that a sequel would be happening. The Hollywood Reporter first broke word that the Deadpool sequel would reunite screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick while director Tim Miller is in talks with the studio to return to helm the film. Seeing that Ryan Reynolds has been working on this film for years getting the studio to make the movie, it’s really amazing that they’re now already working on a sequel. It would also be great having the original creative team to make the sequel since it’s a no brainer that the first film will be a success. There’s been no release date yet for the sequel, but at least everyone will be glad to know that the Merc with the Mouth will be sticking around.
