S.J. Clarkson to Helm First Two Episodes of The Defenders

The upcoming Netflix miniseries Marvel’s The Defenders has already got it’s first director for the first two episodes. Director S.J. Clarkson will be helming the first two installments of the upcoming team-up series for Netflix that comes out sometime next year.

Marvel Entertainment made the announcement that the female director will be in charge of the first two episodes of The Defenders. Clarkson has some experience with Netflix and Marvel after directing some episodes of Jessica Jones, so she’s perfect for tackling some of the episodes. “S.J.’s take on the material is outstanding. We loved her work on Marvel’s Jessica Jones and couldn’t think of a more talented and accomplished person to helm the first two episodes of Marvel’s The Defenders,’” said Marvel’s Head of Television and Executive Producer, Jeph Loeb.

Starring Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, and Finn Jones as Danny Rand/Iron Fist, the eight-episode series comes out in 2017.
