The Defenders Trailer 2 from Comic-Con 2017
The second TV show trailer for Netflix‘s The Defenders has been released at the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con International. The first trailer for The Defenders was good, reminiscent of The Avengers in many ways. That trailer did not pack the punch that this trailer does narratively or action-wise.
Three key figures that will play an intricate part in The Defenders‘ narrative, Alexandra (Sigourney Weaver), Elektra Natchios (Elodie Yung), and Madame Gao (Wai Ching Ho), and have prominent roles in this trailer (or at least their influence does).
Watching the heroes play off of each heroes was humorous but it was Alexandra’s voiceover and how Alexandra was manipulating Elektra that really drove the events in this trailer.
I haven’t seen all of Iron Fist yet, the storylines for that series and its major events were a let-down, so I don’t know how big of a role The Hand or Elektra played in that narrative. From what is shown in this trailer, The Hand has regained its strength (since the events last season in Daredevil) and it seemed to be led by even more ruthless and deadly Elektra.
The Defenders‘ plot synopsis: “Marvel’s The Defenders follows Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Iron Fist (Finn Jones). A quartet of singular heroes with one common goal – to save New York City. This is the story of four solitary figures, burdened with their own personal challenges, who realize they just might be stronger when teamed together.”
The Defenders‘ also stars Elden Henson, Deborah Ann Woll, Eka Darville, Carrie-Anne Moss, Scott Glenn, Jessica Henwick, Rachael Taylor, Simone Missick, and Rosario Dawson.
