Diana International Trailer. Oliver Hirschbiegel‘s Diana (2013) international movie trailer stars Naomi Watts, Naveen Andrews, Lee Asquith-Coe, Cas Anvar, and Geraldine James. Diana‘s plot synopsis: “The biopic focuses on the last two years of her life after she divorced from Prince Charles. Her relationships with heart surgeon Dr. Hasnat Khan (played by Naveen Andrews) and Dodi Fayed (played by Cas Anvar) are also narrated. It also provides the details about how Princess and Khan met.”
The title is billed in the trailer with the line, “The legend is never the whole story.” Diana, which was previously titled Caught in Flight, is produced by Robert Bernstein and Douglas Rae from Ecosse Films.
Entertainment One acquired the U.S. rights for the film at Canne’s film festival; the project comes from Embankment Films and Ecosse Films. The Canadian distributor will also distribute in Britain, Spain, and Canada.
The film also made headlines when Chopard, the luxury Swiss jeweler, released images of the dazzling gems set to appear as part of the costuming design for ‘Diana.’ Chopard has more recently been in the news for the high-profile jewel heists at Canne’s film festival. The brand’s co-president and artistic director Caroline Scheufele worked closely with costume designer Julian Day to re-create the late princess’ watches, jewelry and bags, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Naomi Watts is known for her work in Mulholland Drive, 21 Grams, and the 2012 film The Impossible for which she was nominated for Academy Award for Best Actress. She most recently wrapped filming on the project St. Vincent de Van Nuys written and directed by Theodore Melfi under the Weinstein Company.
