Trekkies, today is your day! You have not one, but two Trek titles hitting the street today: Star Trek: the Next Generation – Season Three and Star Trek: the Next Generation – the Best of Both Worlds. The Best of Both Worlds ($24.99 or $14.99 from Amazon) consists of an edited combination of two episodes of the series – Part 1 and Part 2 – which originally aired on television June 18th and September 4, 1990. The Blu-ray contains extras that won’t be found on either the Season Three disc or the upcoming Season Four set. CBS’ Star Trek: the Next Generation – Season Three six disc set contains digitally remastered versions of all the original 26 episodes from the 1989-1990 season as well as a new 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio mix.

Well Go USA will release Tai Chi Hero, the sequel to Tai Chi Zero, on DVD and Blu-ray July 2, 2013. Both formats will retail for $24.98 and contain the featurette From Zero to Hero: the Making of Tai Chi Hero.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment scheduled the release of the Cuba Gooding, Jr.’s Absolute Deception for June 11, 2013. The FBI action thriller will retail for $22.99 on DVD and contain no extras.

Magnolia Home Entertainment will release the horror flick 23:59 on Blu-ray and DVD on June 4, 2013.

Shout! has set a release date for Electra Glide in Blue for June 4, 2013; Shout! will release The Angry Beavers: the Complete Series on DVD only on July 30, 2013.

Shout! Factory scores a direct hit with the release of its Bruce Lee double feature The Big Boss (Fists of Fury) and Fist of Fury (The Chinese Connection) on April 30, 2013. The two DVD discs are reasonably priced at $14.97 considering they contain no extras and are dubbed rather than subtitled. Hopefully the Blu-rays will pack a better punch.

Jethro Tull: Around the World Live will make its debut on June 25, 2013. The four disc collection from Eagle Rock features behind-the-scenes looks, live performance footage, and a hard cover collector’s book.

Warner has a new direct-to-video animated feature, Tom and Jerry’s Giant Adventure set to release on Blu-ray and DVD August 6, 2013.
