Tropic Thunder9/10

As parody-comedies go, Tropic Thunder is at the near top of its game. It has great actors to portray its characters, a clearly defined plot, moments of absolute hilarity and some nice action sequences. Writer, producer, actor and director Ben Stiller has created a film with enough satire, action and comedy to satiate the gore and humor hound in most genre seekers.

300 (CE)– 9/10

300 revolves around the zealous leadership of King Leonidas of Sparta, played by Gerard Butler, and a litany of testosterone infused dialogue spouted by him and most of the other cast members. Queen Gorgo (Lena Headey), who had three or four lines in the entirety of Frank Miller’s graphic book, finds her role greatly expanded in the film as the pugnacious and aggressive spouse to Leonidas.

I’ve provided a nifty link for you to do just that. ;)

300 doesn’t have any depth. That’s why you haven’t cracked its seal yet. Get the Director’s Cut of Kingdom of Heaven. It’s fantastic. I couldn’t recommend that film more.

Well somebody gave me that “300″ dvd.
I’m really not into gladiator films.
One day I’ll pop it in and see what all the fuss was about. I remember it had a huge opening weekend…

Kingdom of Heaven is not a gladiator film and neither is its better constructed counterpart, the Director’s Cut. It’s a great drama with battles sequences.
