EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE (2014): Rachel McAdams Joins James Franco Film

Rachel McAdams joins the cast of Everything Will Be Fine. McAdams joins the cast of the Wim Wenders drama that is now shooting in Montreal. James Franco stars in the film as a man responsible for the death of a young boy. He channels his guilt into a successful writing career. Charlotte Gainsbourg and Robert Naylor also co-star. Gainsburg is playing the boy’s mother while Naylor is playing the brother, who ten years after the accident reaches out to the man who killed his sibling.

Rachel McAdams will play Franco’s girlfriend, who has to deal with his deteriorating mental health. Sarah Polley was initially slated to play the part but a deal never took.

The movie began shooting in Montreal last week. The filming will have a break and then start again in winter.

Naylor is a Genie award nominee who starred in the French Canadian movie 10 ½ and played a young Henry Cavill in Immortals. Gainbsourg starred with Kirsten Dunst in Lars von Trier’s Meloncholia and is reteaming with von Trier for Nymphomaniac. McAdams next stars in About Time, the latest movie from Richard Curtis, the writer of Notting Hill and Love Actually. James Franco received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor for his role in 127 Hours.

The upcoming German 3D drama film is written by Bjørn Olaf Johannessen. The film is produced by Gian-Piero Ringel. Neue Road Movies is listed as the production studio. HanWay Films has worlwide distribution rights to the 3D film. Warner Bros. will release the film in Germany and Mongrel Media will release the film in Canada in 2014.
