EXTANT: 2.02: Morphoses: TV Show Trailer & Season 2 previews [CBS]

Halle Berry Extant Morphoses

TV show trailer for CBS Extant episode Morphoses, and season 2 TV show previews. After making something of a break, from season 1, the question becomes: what will this new start mean for Extant’s overall mythology. A more immediate concern, however, is how the show intends to reconnect with that mythology, after the need to ‘Change Scenario.’

The answer seems to be a reintroduction of the twin terrors scenario, that ran across much of season 1. The first season dwelt on the question of who constituted the greater threat to humanity: the creepy alien hybrid, or the creepy emo android. Between the trailer for ‘Morphoses,’ and the season 2 overview, Extant aims to double down in a big way. What does that mean exactly? Why, multiple creepy hybrid kids, on one side, multiple potential killing machines, on the other, and Humans lashing out at both. It’s gonna be Alien vs Terminator, baby!

… Okay, maybe not. The new Mulder & Scully team, of Molly (Halle Berry) & JD (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), will undoubtedly be working to head off that particular scenario; but it would be a potential outcome worth playing around with, at least (c’mon, showrunners – play with it!). Julie (Grace Gummer) might also be out to redeem herself, at some point; but, meh….

‘Morphoses’ also features Pierce GagnonKiersey ClemonsTyler HiltonJohn Billingsley, and David Morrissey, and airs Wednesday, July 8, at 10:00 pm, EST, on CBS.
